Mick's been a good pal since 1974. We shared an apartment in Kamuela, co-owned a Piper J3 Cub, crewed on sailing catamarans, got our USCG Skipper certifications together, co-owned a house and had great times over the past 50 years.
He was Best Man at our Kona wedding in 1982. He even moved in with my parents for a year in Sacramento, proving that questionable judgement runs in my family.
Mick shared a lot of his adventure stories with us over the years, but we know there are lots more we haven't heard. Wish we'd had more time, but now we want to put together an upbeat book of all his crazy adventures. Or at least the ones we can talk about.
No need for you to write anything down. If you have a story about Mick, just call us and we'll record it. Once we have all the stories we can get our hands on, we'll put together a not-too-serious book of what Captain Mick's amazing life was like.
Any good memory is welcome. Weird adventures, close calls, brave moments, foolish choices, bad decisions, questionable women, old planes, adult beverages, foreign governments, shady characters. It's all good. Let's talk about Mick!
We will be at Mick's Memorial Service on Saturday May 16, 2026 in Indio.
Call Geoff at 206-375-0481, EDT, and we can record your stories about Mick.
